Of Paraparaumu. Peacefully at home surrounded by her loving whanau, on Thursday 27 February 2020. Aged 87 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Robert (Bobby). Loved Mum of Vaughan, Carol, Rangi, Mahora, Robert, Osmond, Wayne, Kim and their partners. Loved Grandmother and Great- Grandmother of all her Mokopuna. A service to celebrate Nora’s life will be held at Whakarongotai Marae, Marae Lane, Waikanae, on Monday 2 March 2020 at 11.00am, to be followed by burial at Awa Tapu Cemetery, Valley Road, Paraparaumu.

BLAIR, David Thompson

Passed away peacefully in the care of Hospice Southland surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 26, 2020; aged 81 years. Dearly loved partner of the late Lorraine Howley, a much loved father and father-in-law of Jason and Sandra, Kerry and Michael, Shaun and Karreena, and Julian and Pip, loved grandad of Sam, Jack, and Ben; Thomas, Jonty, and Devon; Daniel, and Angus, loved by his extended family Wayne* and Kiwia Howley, Peter and Barbara Howley, Richard and Julie Howley and their families. A service to celebrate David’s life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, Invercargill, on Tuesday, March 3, at 1.30pm, interment to follow at the Eastern Cemetery. MANNIX, June Cathrine (nee Plant)

Peacefully at Southland Hospital on Monday, February 24, 2020, after a short illness in her 84th year. Loved wife of the late Bill. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Maureen and David Anderton (Winton), Michael and Mandy (Invercargill), Jo Anne (Australia). Loved grand, great-grand and great-great-grandmother. DOWLING, Yvonne Frances

Passed quietly at Peacehaven Village, Invercargill, on February 24, 2020, aged 75. Dearly loved wife of Ken. Cherished mother of Katy and David (Auckland), Joanne, and the late Jason. Loved grandma of Nadia and Amanda (Christchurch), Daniel and Isabel (Auckland). Great-grandmother to Adara and Ahorangi (Christchurch). Loved aunt to various nieces and nephews, particularly Jane and Peter, Marguerite McDonald (Wellington), Winifred and Eugene (Northern Ireland). The family wish to thank the staff at Peacehaven for their unfailing, courteous and dignified assistance during Yvonne’s illness. A private farewell has been held for this proudly Irish soul set free.


STREET, Michael Anthony (Tony)

Of Carterton and who passed away peacefully at Roseneath Lifecare Home after a long battle with heart disease, on Friday 21st February 2020, aged 83 years. Dearly loved and cherished husband of Janise. A much loved father and father-in-law of Eric, Peter & Amanda, Linda & Brent and Susan & Roy. Loved step-father to Travis, Tabatha, Kyle and Amber. Adored grandfather of his 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Dr Mike Berry and the caregivers at Roseneath.

Of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, was cremated at 9am on 25 February 2020 in Melbourne. He passed away peacefully at home on 30 December 2019. Dearly loved father of Steven and Graham. Dearly loved brother of Nancy, George, Thomas, Shirley, Peter and the late Margaret Joe.

WEDDELL, William Donald Claude (Don)

Passed away peacefully with the ones he loved at Cook Street Nursing Care Centre, Palmerston North, on Tuesday 25 February 2020, aged 77 years. Dearly loved son of the late Bill and Ida Weddell. Much loved brother and brother-in-law of Irene and the late Ian Southey and Leonie (deceased) and Ian Prout. Don was part of a large extended family all of whom cherished and enjoyed all he had to offer whether as a son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, nephew or cousin. We were all the richer for having Don in our lives. Sincere thanks to the staff at Cook Street Nursing Care Centre for their genuine love and understanding care of Don. A service for Don will be held at The Lychway Chapel, 5 Roy Street, Palmerston North, on Friday 28 February 2020, at 1.00pm, followed by interment at Kelvin Grove Cemetery. NZ Air Force, NZ4216131. Aged 95 years. Passed away peacefully on February 24, 2020, at Atawhai Rest Home, Napier. Beloved husband of the late Airini, and the late Joan. Much loved Dad of Jan, Shelley and David. Loved Parba Bill of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On February 25, 2020, at Nurse Maude Hospital, aged 90 years. Dearly loved wife of the late George, much loved and loving mother of Anne and Rob Glass, John, Catherine, and Liz. Adored grandmother of Emma, Becky, and Abbey; Daniel, Christian, and Olivia; and Courtney. Loved Nana to her 10 great-grandchildren. Cherished daughter of the late Annie and Richard Grose. A very special sister of Barbara (her Peggity) and loved sister and sister-in-law of the late Jack and Mon, the late Bern and Rosemary, and the late Edgar. A loved aunt to her nieces and nephews. Passed away peacefully at home in Whanganui on 23 February 2020, aged 88. Beloved wife of the late Anthony. Mother of Anna. Grandma to Laurence, and Jason Brooke. Co-founder of Peace Through Unity, Gita will be greatly missed by all her family and friends including the worldwide coworkers for the Culture of Peace. Dearly loved youngest daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (nee Nicholl), and sister of Mary and Vianney Le Rumeur (France), John, Joseph and Carolyn, Michael and Barbara, Therese and Hugh Madden, Patrick and Kate (Canberra), Paul and Philippa, Anthony and Helen (Wales), Thomas and Sarah, and a loved aunt, niece and cousin.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St Joseph’s Cathedral, Rattray Street, at 11.00am, on Friday, February 28, then to the Green Island Cemetery (please note this replaces 9.30am Mass).
