Passed away suddenly on 12 August 2019. Dear brother of Merle and Dave McGall, and uncle to Dave (Jnr) and family.
Bruce, you’ve left a huge gap in our lives.


McBREARTY, Mary Patricia (nee Sewell)

On August 15, 2019, after a short illness, peacefully at Wesleycare surrounded by her family. Dearly loved wife of John, and loved mother and mother-in-law of Richard and Rebecca, and Philippa and Colin Murchison. A much loved Grandma of Joel and Preston. Loved daughter of the late Bill and Moira Sewell, and loved sister and sister-in-law of Tony and Margaret Sewell, Claire Newsome, and David and Sue McBrearty. NEILSON, Ailsa Margaret

Peacefully at Kew Hospital after a short illness, on Thursday, August 15, 2019, aged 84 years. Loved wife and best friend of the late Peter Neilson. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Trevor and Paulina, Sandra and Rob McMurdo. A loved Nana Ailsa of Sonya and Joseph, Kerrie, Marsha and Matt, Jeffrey and Hannah and Andrew. POETSCH, Jane Anne

Of Levin (Retired Teacher) On 13 August 2019 at Palmerston North Hospital. Aged 79 years. Beloved wife of the late Richard Leopold Poetsch, and loved mother of Marisa and Michael. Much loved Grandma of Terina, Vaughn, Jade, Kyra, Brannen, Khian, and Brianna. A tribute to Jane may be left on her page at Jane will lie at Tukorehe Marae, Kuku, until her service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bath Street, Levin, on Monday 19 August 2019 at 11.00am, followed by burial at Te Rau O Te Aroha Urupa, at Kuku.


HIRST, Graeme Gilbert

Serv. No. P75844 F/S CFG RNZAF. Of Bulls, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Saturday 10 August 2019, in his 86th year. Dearly loved husband of Flora and the late Val. Devoted Dad and father-in-law of Wayne and Sophie, Mark and Suzie, Marcelle and Trevor Williams, Garth and Tania. A much loved stepdad, and a cherished Pop to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special brother and brother-in-law of Brenda and Peter Sporle, the late Joan and Cliff Collings, and the late Audrey and Alec Groome. Messages to the Hirst family, C/- 18 Morris Street, Marton 4710. It is with sadness the Oakura Fire Brigade acknowledges the passing of past member Mike Dunn, last Monday evening. Join us in the celebration of Mike’s life on Saturday 17th August, at 2.00pm, at the Devon Hotel. Serving members are asked to meet at Oakura Fire Station at 1.00pm on Saturday in full undress uniform.



On 12 August 2019, aged
59 years. Adored wife of Dan, mother of Jimmy, Will and Maddie, sister of Sarah and Max, daughter of Derek and Elizabeth, step-daughter of Max, aunty, cousin, outlaw of the T-J Tribe, friend and colleague of the countless. Our thanks to the many who have cared, catered and consoled. A service for Anna will be held at St Mary of the Angels, Boulcott St, Wellington, at 3.00pm on Monday 19 August 2019.


HAMILTON, Ailsa Denise(nee Woodcock)

Passed away peacefully at home on 7th August 2019. Dearly loved sister and sister-in-law to Trish and Lloyd, loved ‘‘Aunty’’ to Belinda and Steve (Rotorua), and Stephen and Veronika (London), and ‘‘Great-Aunty’’ to Bentley.

CORKRAN, William John (Bill)

Passed away peacefully at Kahurangi Unit, Grey Base Hospital with loving family by his side, on August 13, 2019, aged 92. Dearly loved husband of the late Lily, beloved dad and father-in-law of Janice and Cyril Evans, Kath and Steve Maitland, Terry and Jeanette, and precious ‘Pa’ of the late Rosie, loved grandad of Kelly, and Tracy and Jason, great-grandad of Faith, and Jake, a loved uncle, and friend of many. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at the Kahurangi Unit for their wonderful care and support over the last five years. Messages to 23 St James Street, Ross 7812. A Requiem Mass for Bill will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Reefton, at 11.00am, on Saturday - his 93rd birthday. Bill will then be laid to rest with Lily at Burkes Creek Cemetery.


SHIRLAW, Malcolm Ian

16.5.1943 — 10.8.2019
Passed away suddenly in his sleep at home, aged 76 years. Much loved brother and brother-in-law of Selwyn (dec) and Joy Bruce. Dearly loved uncle of Nicola Bruce. Greatly loved friend of Chrissy Thomson, Sue Molloy, and Chris Gill. Malcolm will be missed by his many friends, both past and present from the Christchurch Botanical Gardens.
