DUFFY, Kevin Barry

Tragically taken from us on Wednesday, February 26. Dearly beloved husband of Joan (deceased). Much loved father and father-in-law of Mary-Jane and Ben, Anna and Gordon, Christopher and Wendy, Rosanne and Michael, Bridget and Peter, Paula and Lucy, Phillip and Tim (both deceased). Much loved grandfather of Fen, Orion, Hannah, Mila, Zet, Flynn, Poppy, Dylan, Perry, and Ada. A wake will be held on Thursday, March 5, from 6.00pm at Kevin’s home in Mokotua to celebrate Dad’s life. A Requiem Mass will be held the next day at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Rimu Street, Georgetown, Invercargill, at 2.00pm on Friday, March 6, followed by an open burial and afternoon tea. CLARKE, Lynne Margaret

Died peacefully on February 27, 2020. Loved Mother of Nicki and Sister of Steve and their families. Dear friend to many. Memorial service to celebrate Lynne’s life will be held on Thursday, March 5, at 2.00pm, at the Ron Ball Theatre, Christchurch Town Hall.


HUGGINS, Dorothy Margaret

Passed peacefully on February 27, 2020, days after her 90th birthday. Dearly loved mother of the late Paul and former mother-in-law of Julie. Cherished Nan of Anthony and Julie and Lance and Jaimie. Beloved Great-Nan of Paul and Lily.

HITCH, William Leonard (Bill)

On February 28, 2020. Husband of his beloved Elizabeth, much loved father of the late John, Chris, Joanna and Richard, and Paula and Martin. Fun Grandad of Dan, Bern, Alexandra, and Josh.

Let’s all send him on his way, to his journey beyond, with a service to be held at St Augustine Anglican Church, 5 Cracroft Terrace, Cashmere, on Thursday, March 5, at 1.00pm.


D’COSTA, Eileen Apollonia (nee Clark)

On February 26, 2020, passed away peacefully at home with family, aged 87 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Ignatius (Iggy). Cherished and much loved mother of Celine, and Christine, mother-in-law of Jeff, gran of Jonathon, and Benjamin. Special thanks to all who have supported and cared for Eileen, being Doctors Gerry and Kim Burgess, Letti, Lesley, and Margaret, and the girls from the Nurse Maude team. AYSON, Murray Alexander

Peacefully, at home, on Friday, February 28, 2020; aged 75 years. Dearly loved husband and soul mate of Joan, much loved father and father-in-law of Derek and Rachel (Gore), Robyn and Glenn (Palmerston North), treasured Granddad of Georgia, and Chonelle; Rebekah, Katherine, and Thomas, and special uncle of Lorraine and Stephen Stuart; Jordan, Hayden, and Brock.

A service to remember Murray will be held in Campbell and Sons Chapel, 95 Gordon Road, Mosgiel, at 10.30am on Tuesday, March 3, followed by private cremation. Passed away suddenly on February 26, 2020, aged 55. Loving husband, proud father, cheeky koro, and respected uncle, brother, friend who will be deeply missed. Celebrations will be held at 202 Limmer Road, Te Kowhai, on Saturday, February 29, 7.00pm, and at 6160 Main South Road, Rahotu, on Tuesday, March 3 at 11.00am

BACON, Mary Elizabeth

Passed away peacefully in Christchurch on February 27, 2020, aged 77 years. Beloved eldest daughter of the late Allen and Beryl Bacon, and loved sister and sister-in-law of John & Celia, Beverley & David, Douglas & Rosalie, Joanna & Andrew. MILLAR, Patricia Deidre (Pat)

Passed away peacefully on Friday 28th February 2020. Aged 91 years. Dearly loved mother of Gary and Lynne, Grant and Lorraine, Karen and Brent, Glenys, Craig (dec) and Debbie, and Tony and Jane. Loved by her 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Pat’s life is to be held at Cleggs Chapel, 268 High Street, Hawera, on Tuesday 3rd March 2020, at 11.00am, followed by a private cremation.


GREEN, John Bruce (JB)

On 27 February 2020, suddenly at work with his boots still on. Dearly loved husband of Toni. Much loved father of Wendy and Kevin, Peter and Deb, Chook (Denise) and Sam. Dearly loved Poppa of Taylor and Chelsea; Ethan, Korbyn and Georgia; Max, Harry and Molly.
Yesterday our family rock, our friend, our mate! the kindest man, passed away. We are all hurting so badly. We miss him already. What an amazing husband, father and poppa you were Johnny. We love you so, so much. Our hearts hurt, RIP Johnny.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at the Te Kauwhata Rugby Sports Club, Mahi Road, Te Kauwhata on Tuesday 3 March at 1.00pm, to be followed by a private cremation. THOMPSON, Leslie Arthur

A memorial service will be held at Opunake Cemetery on Sunday, March 1st, 2020, at 10.00am, when Leslie’s ashes will be placed on his father’s grave. The Thompson family welcome all friends and relatives to attend the Memorial. Leslie was a member of the Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes Grand Lodge of New Zealand Mount Lodge 135, and his family were early settlers in New Zealand. Leslie passed away in Brisbane, Australia, in January, requesting that his ashes be returned to his homeland.


BOYD, Andrew Alexander

Passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. Much loved and treasured husband of Donna. Brother and brother-in-law to Martin and Kath, Simon and Bronwyn. Uncle to Aiden, Keir, Mohan, Ben and Tom. Great-uncle to Mason, Nettle and Raine. At Andy’s request a private cremation service has been held. A celebration of Andy’s life will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Riwaka Rugby Club 3pm onwards. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Cancer Society NZ.



Peacefully at her home with family at her side, on Tuesday 25 February 2020, aged 68 years. Much loved partner of Jenny. Cherished mother of Darion, and Hayley. Adoring grandmother to her 6 grandchildren. Special thanks to the Rotorua Hospice. In accordance with Carol’s wishes, a private cremation has been held.


THOMPSON, Jeannette Elizabeth

Peacefully at Nelson Hospital on Monday, February 24, 2020 (surround by her loving family and close friends). Loving wife of Eric; adored mother and mother-in-law of Martin and Bonnie, Kevin and Ange, David and Yukako; cherished grandma of Amber, Jade, Michaela, George, and Amy; loved great-grandma of Hazel, and Ryan.
