HEWSON, Helen (née Spiewak)

Passed away peacefully at Ashwood Park Retirement Village, Blenheim (formerly of New Plymouth), on Monday, September 21, 2020. In her 99th year. Dearly loved wife of the late Marcin Spiewak and David Hewson. Treasured mother of Krystyna and Salve Muollo (Blenheim), and the late John and Rosemary Spiewak (Christchurch). Much loved stepmother of Geoffrey and Lorraine Hewson (Wanganui), and Margaret and Paul Staddon (Palmerston North). A much loved grandmother. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Ashwood Park who cared for Helen with such caring and love, especially CCU for the past eight years, and for their support the family during those years. In accordance with Helen’s wishes, a private service has been held.


OLIVER, Rosalind Anne (nee Coombe)

Rose passed away peacefully at home on 23 September 2020, after a brief illness. Dearly loved wife of the late Brian. Much loved mother, mother-in-law, nana & friend to Rita, Paul, Julie, Dave, Leanne, Sam, Josh, Milla & Amanda.
Thank you for the memories we will hold dear. May you Rest In Peace with Brian.
A private service has been held.


BERTIE, Nicole Marie (nee McClintock)

On Monday, September 21, 2020, at her home in Alexandra, Nicole suddenly passed away at the age of 45. Loved wife of Regan, loved Mum of MacKenzie and Indy. Loved daughter of Fay and Andrew McClintock. Loved sister and sister-in-law of Joseph and Fiona. Loved niece of Jeanette and the late John Huston, cousin Jeff Huston and Karen Faalilo. A private service for Nicole will be held in Alexandra. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 9, at 2.00pm, at the Vintage Car Club Main Hall, Cutler Park, McLeans Island Road.



Peacefully on September 20, 2020, at Burlington Village. Loved and respected step-mother of Andrew and Gaynor, Philip and the late Debbie, Darryl, Warren, Karen and Colin Coleman. Also loved step-naan and great-naan to their families.

Passed away peacefully after a short but brave battle, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, aged 61 years. Dearly loved wife and best friend of Jeff. Loved Mum and mother-in-law of Joanna, Todd, Robert, Katrina, Warrick and Andrew. Loved special Nana to Oliver. Cherished Nana to Michaela, Ruby, Maisy and Leo. In lieu of flowers donations to the Arohanui Hospice, PO Box 5349, Palmerston North 4414, would be appreciated or may be left in the church foyer. A service for Janice will be held in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 96 Shamrock Street, Palmerston North, on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at 11.00am. Followed by interment at Kelvin Grove Lawn Cemetery.


WHITE, Patricia Anne (nee Dobbie)

Beloved daughter of the late John and Mary. Much loved sister and sister-in-law of Cath and Peter, Maggie and Erik, Mary and Bruce, John and Rebecca, and Bill and Caroline.

Of Foxton Beach. Passed away on 23rd September 2020. Aged 81 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary, loving dad of Robert and Tracey, and Suesan. Loved grandad of Jordan, Anna, Olivia, Thomas and Felicity.

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 24th 2020 at Palmerston North Hospital, aged 85 years. Treasured husband and best friend of Jillian for 61 years. Loved Dad and father-in-law of Malcolm and Jocelyn, and Donald and Janice. Adored Grandad of Nicky and Nathan; Jonathan, David, Caleb, Joseph, and the late Samuel. Beloved Great-Grandad of Alice, Olive and Mary; Oscar and Ted; Jasmine and Tui; and Elijah. Survived by his sister Janet. A service to celebrate Barry’s life will be held at the Hub, entrance off Allardice Street, Dannevirke, on Tuesday, September 29th 2020 at 11.00am. SORENSEN, Alice Dorothy

Died peacefully this week, aged 84 years. Dearly loved wife of Svenn. Alice will be remembered by her son Michael and his family Nicola and Elsie. Special thanks to the staff at Ultimate Lifecare Maupuia that cared for Alice over the last few months. An amazing team whose support was greatly appreciated. Thanks to all that have looked after Alice since Svenn passed away last year. WARNER, Graeme Philip Mansfield (Weetbix)

At Timaru Hospital on Thursday, September 24, 2020. Aged 73 years. Loved partner of Shirley Cowie. Much loved loved father of Sonya, and Ricky. Much loved “Grand dad Weetie” of Baylee, Jayden, Chloe and Charlotte. Remembered fondly by Paul, Colin and Chris. At Graeme’s request a private cremation has been held. A Memorial service will be held at a later date, details to follow.


LENNOX, Jillian Dawn

Suddenly but peacefully at home, on 1st April 2020, aged 83. Dearly beloved wife of Eric for 60 years. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Fiona and Michael Sinclair (Cheltenham), Susie and John Sargent (Sydney), Alison and Graeme Andrew (Auckland), and Anna Lennox and Justin Weir (Auckland). Treasured Granny Jill of Caitlin; Lucy and Jack; Jonty and Oscar; and Molly. A memorial service to celebrate Jill’s life will be held in the Church Of The Good Shepherd, Weraroa Road, Waverley, on Thursday 1st October 2020, at 1.30pm.
