(Emeritus Professor of Victoria University of Wellington). Passed away on 12 November 2018, aged 83 years. Dearly loved husband of Margery for 59 years. Loved father and father-in-law to David and Celia, Stephen and Rachel. Much loved Pops and Grandad to Logan and Oliver. Special thanks to the staff of Mary Potter Hospice and Harbourview Care Home for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John to the Motor Neurone Disease Association of New Zealand, c/- PO Box 24036, Royal Oak, Auckland 1345 would be appreciated or may be left at the chapel. A celebration of John’s life will be held at the Ninness Funeral Home Chapel, 17 Kenepuru Drive, Porirua, on Thursday, 22 November 2018, commencing at 11.00am.

Loved grandmother of Catherine, Ellen, William; Nathan, Logan, Breanna; Jess and Troy, Josh, great-grandmother of Ruby and Isla, and a loved sister of Ruth, sister-in-law of Nancy and Murray Gillespie. On November 11, 2018, aged 91. Dearly loved wife of the late Maurice. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Yvonne and Ray Beattie, Ken and Andrea and Graham (deceased). A loved grandma to Nicola Reynolds, Janette Beattie and Troy Anderson. Loved great-grandma to Flynn and Reuben Reynolds. Many thanks to Nurse Maude and the wonderful staff at Rosewood Hospital. At Margaret’s request, a private, family farewell was held at the Canterbury Crematorium Chapel.
A lovely lady who will be sorely missed.

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 13 November 2018, aged 88. Cherished husband of the late Valerie for 64 loving years. With great sadness Norma has passed on after a life well lived. She made 98 years. A daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a great-grandmother and a friend to all. Wife to the late Ted, and mother to the late Brent and the late Richard. Survived by a daughter-in-law, 3 granddaughters and partners, and 7 great-grandchildren.

We are celebrating the long, strong, wise life of Stefanija Apse who died peacefully, and with extreme dignity, at 8.11am on November 10, 2018. Born in Rezekne, Latvia, November 7, 1921. Daughter of Jazeps Bojars and Jezupate Zarembo. Young sister of Antonina, Janis, Bolislavs, Doritija, Antons, Peters, and Helena. Dearest mother of John and Ilse (Janis and Ilze). Dearest grandmother of Lisa, Alex, Lara, Anna, Krista, and Elizabeta. Dearest great-grandmother of Stefanija, Mowgli, Liam, Caitlin, Greta, Claudius, Amelia, Clementine, George and Ethan. Aunt and great-aunt to many in Latvia.
Loyal friend. Talented singer, gardener, and cook.
Avid reader.
Thank you to staff at Woburn Home for their support and friendship to Stefanija. A private service has been held and we are returning Stefanija to Latvia.

Passed peacefully on November 2, 2018, (Principal Nurse at Christchurch Women’s Hospital). Dearly loved friend of Jan and Tom Moore, Michael and Judy Cooper, Janice and Bevan High and their families. Lesley also valued her friendship with the Doherty families, her Thursday card playing ladies and her friends in Bishopdale especially at the Library and Tavern Harewood. Beloved wife of the late Bruce for 62 years, loved and loving mother and mother-in-law of Lynne and Andrew Marwick, Sally and Paul Stanley-Boden, Kerry Marshall and Chris Wells, devoted grandma of Thomas and Nicole, William and Hannah, and James Marwick; David and Eszter Stanley-Boden, Mindy and James Wigglesworth, Andrew Stanley-Boden; Timothy Wells and Nicole Rosewarne, and Sophie Wells; adored great-grandma of Chelsea, Jessica, Quinn, and Sam Marwick; Jack and Hannah Stanley-Boden; and Lila Wigglesworth. Loved sister of June Stroud, and Len Cotton, and the late Peter Cotton, a loved sister-in-law, aunt and friend.
