Passed away suddenly, but peacefully, at home with Judy by his side on 26th May 2020, in his 80th year. Dearly loved husband of Judy. Much loved father and father-in-law of Scott & Wenli, Vicki & Chris and Glen. Loved Poppa of April; Alex, Bradley, Jacob and Sean.
‘Brave though weary you made no fuss, and when the cure was not to be God whispered come with me.’
A celebration of Don’s life will be held at the Hamilton Park Crematorium Chapel, Morrinsville Road, Newstead, on Tuesday 2nd June at 1.30pm.


FRANSSEN, ElisabethMaria MargarethaTheresia (Betsie)

Of Palmerston North. Passed away peacefully on Friday 22 May 2020, aged 86. Dearly loved wife of the late Antoon (Tony). Treasured mum and mother-in-law of Fred & Sandra, Paul & Robyn, Jackie & Bruce, and Mike & Pauline. Much loved Grandma and Oma of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. SCHMIDT, Donald James

Passed away on Friday 15 May 2020 at home in Perth; aged 70 years. Dearly loved husband of Lynne, and treasured Dad of David. Much loved son of Arthur and Enid (dec), brother and brother-in-law of Bill and Fran, Robert and Katie, Ian and Nita, Margaret and Phil Pearson.
A special person and friend of so many, Donald will forever be in our thoughts.

(Formerly of Palmerston North) On 26th May 2020, peacefully at Lansdowne Court, Masterton, aged 83. Loved soulmate of the late Herbert Stowers (Herb). On May 21, 2020, peacefully in Hospice Wanganui. After a short illness, aged 75 years. Loved husband of Colleen. Dearly loved husband of the late Val, much loved father and father-in-law of BJ and Lynley (Totara Flat), Sue and Des Seymour (Timaru), Diane, and Al and Lisa (all of Christchurch), loved grandad of Anna and Mark, Nikki and Tony, Sean and Katelin, Angela and Joe, Mark and Melissa, Brent and Amie, Glen and Julia, Blair and Toni, Taylor, and Meg, loved great-grandad of his 12 great-grandchildren, loved son of the late George and Myrtle, loved son-in-law of the late Bill and Lillian Nicholls, loved brother and brother-in-law of Trish and Rob McTaggart, Kay and the late Neil Mundy, Graham (deceased) and Mari, and the late George and Helen, loved brother-in-law of the late Mait and Allison Nicholls, Daphne and Leo Fitzgerald, and Elaine and Rex Scatchard. Passed peacefully in Christchurch Hospital. Much loved mum of Mark and Diane, Lucas, Jenise, Rodney, Richard and Heidi, and Allan Day. Loved sister of Rex, Kevin, the late Neil and Graham Kelly. Much loved father and father-in-law of Geoff and Sue, and Helga and Ryan. Adored Grandad Beach of Aaron and Amy. Grandpa of Brodie and Sean and Great-Grandad of Selena. On 25 May 2020, one day after her 90th birthday, our beloved Danica took her last breath with her cherished family beside her. Dearly loved wife of Mate (deceased). Treasured mother of Marica & Lynsey, Diana & Miro, and Valentina & Steve. Adored ‘Baba’ of Zofia, Damian, Mira & Nathan, Matthew, Valentin & Eleanor, Mario, Amelia & Jonathan, Jerome, Stefan, Olivia, Elena, and Niko - and proud ‘Pra-Baba’ of Izabella, Obi, Archie, Lucija, Rocco, Kyla, and Leo. Danica’s love for her family was immense and she will be sorely missed. Heartfelt thanks to the exceptional staff at Rita Angus Retirement Village, Kilbirnie.
