Neighbourly is getting a makeover
Over the past year we've been working on something very special for our large and loyal Neighbourly community.
We'll be back soon
We've temporarily pulled down the blinds on our Neighbourly shop front (neighbourly.co.nz) as we prepare to launch the new Neighbourly.
Over the past year we've been working on something very special for our large and loyal Neighbourly community.
You've likely seen some of this work through the recent launch of our 18 new, hyper-local Neighbourly News sites.
It's the best way to stay connected to great local news while we're on pause.
What happens to your account while we're away, and what's waiting for you when we open the blinds again.
You'll be the first to know when we open the blinds again. Your neighbourhood, your account, local businesses and your neighbours will all be there with you as you sign in again.
It's beautiful, easy to navigate, designed for fun local interactions and it's just the start of a whole lot of new ways to engage with your neighbours, your neighbourhood and the local businesses you love.
Pick the set that fits you.
The plan is later this year. We’re not sharing an exact date yet. We’ll email every member before the new Neighbourly opens, with everything you need to know.
No. Your account moves with you automatically, and we’ll email you when the new Neighbourly is ready. There’s nothing to set up and nothing to sign.
Your profile, including your name, contact details, address and neighbourhood, along with your verification status, badges, and how long you’ve been a member.
Posts, messages and images, including your profile picture, will not be migrated. If there is something from them you need, email helpdesk@neighbourly.co.nz and we’ll help where we can.
Email helpdesk@neighbourly.co.nz and tell us what you’d like updated or removed. Account settings went offline with the rest of the site, so our team takes care of this for you now.
It will be held securely and used only to set your account up on the new Neighbourly, and nothing else. You shared your information with us to hold a Neighbourly account, and that’s the only thing we’ll use it for.
Moving in stages is what lets us bring everyone’s accounts across safely. It’s a short gap, and we think the new Neighbourly will be worth the wait.
Yes. For a short period after 23 September our team will still be able to access Neighbourly behind the scenes. Email helpdesk@neighbourly.co.nz and we’ll help out.
Business profiles and followers move to the new Neighbourly. If you had a paid subscription or booked posts, our team will be in touch personally to look after you. See the questions for businesses and organisations.
Rest assured Neighbourly will continue to be all about connecting neighbours online and in real life. Like any business today, AI already plays a role in making Neighbourly easy to use and helps us operate efficiently, and this won’t change with the new Neighbourly. You will continue to receive support from the Neighbourly team when you reach out to us at helpdesk@neighbourly.co.nz.
It moves with you. When the new Neighbourly opens, your business or organisation profile, and your followers, will be right where you left them. Apart from minor updates to your profile, there’s no need to set anything up again.
Yes. Email helpdesk@neighbourly.co.nz and we’ll make sure your business profile isn’t migrated to the new Neighbourly. Deactivating it yourself needed the site’s own settings, which went offline with everything else.
We ran what we could before the site closed. If any of yours didn’t run, a member of our team will be in touch to rebook them or move them to another option that works for you. If you haven’t heard from us, email helpdesk@neighbourly.co.nz.
We’ll make sure you’re looked after. A member of our team will be in touch personally to talk through your options, including moving your remaining activity to Neighbourly News or another Stuff product. If you haven’t heard from us, email helpdesk@neighbourly.co.nz.
Not on the current Neighbourly, which is closed. Our team can help you plan activity on Neighbourly News or another Stuff product in the meantime, and get you ready for the new Neighbourly.
List your business on your local Neighbourly News site. It’s free, and it keeps you visible to the same local audience.
Keen to talk through what Neighbourly News offers? Email the team at advertise@neighbourlynews.co.nz.
Yes. Local businesses will be part of the new Neighbourly from day one. We’ll be in touch ahead of launch with what’s available and how to get set up early.
No. Your business profile and your followers move across with you, and we’ll be in touch ahead of launch. In the meantime, if there’s a Neighbourly News site in your area, you can list your business there for free.
Email helpdesk@neighbourly.co.nz and one of the team will come back to you directly.
Something we haven't answered here? Get in touch and a real person at this end will come back to you. Want to hear when we open the blinds again? Members will be emailed automatically, and anyone else can email us to be added to the list.
