Our beloved mum and friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, 29 July 2021, in her 85th year. She will be missed by her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Messages may be sent c/- PO Box 2055, Masterton 5842. A private service has been held.


COLQUHOUN, Margaret Hellen (nee Smith)

Of Dannevirke, aged 91 years. Passed away peacefully surrounded by love, 18 days after George, her dearly loved husband and best friend of 66 years. Adored Mum and mother-in-law of Iaan (deceased), Shona & Brian, Heather & Warwick, Gail & Richard, and Leigh & Geoff. Special Nana of Amy, Matt, Anna, Sarah, Jenna and the late Patrick. Great-grandfather of Lucy, Harper and Mackenzie. Grateful thanks to all the staff of Ultimate Care Aroha for their love and care of Margaret. A private family cremation will take place. Peacefully at Chatswood Retirement Village, surrounded by his loving family on July 28, 2021, aged 87 years. Dearly loved and devoted husband of Lesley. Much loved, respected and treasured father and father-in-law of Christine and Dick; Jonathan and Emma; Sarah; Richard and Louise; Belinda and Frank; and Jane and Paul. Loved and cherished grandad of Sam, and James; Tom, Emma, Jack, Pippi, and Lulu; Maya; Eva, Abe, and Joe; Zoe; Finn, and Georgia. Loved great-grandad of Jayda, TeRina, and Keanu; and Luna. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Jill and Ken. Loved uncle of Brigid, and Sarah; and Anna, and Leesa. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Chatswood who cared for Mark so well. EALAM, Margaret (nee O’Reilly)

Passed away on July 27, 2021, at Dunedin Hospital. Oldest daughter of the late Joe and Lucy O’Reilly, much loved wife of Malcolm, and mother of Patrick and Michelle. She was the beloved sister and sister-in-law of Bernadette McCormick, Terry and Carol O’Reilly, Denise and Neville Peck, Pat and Lynton McLachlan, Colleen and Chris Glasson, Marie and Alex Bennett, the late Josephine and John Daly, Lucy and Arnold Mouw, Christine and Kevin Graham, and dearly loved aunt of all her nephews and nieces. A Requiem Mass and interment of her ashes will be held in Ashburton on a day to be advised.

DICKIE, Peter Alexander

Passed away peacefully in Motueka, on August 1, 2021, aged 83. Loving husband of Kathy; and treasured by his friends in Mapua. The funeral service to celebrate Peter’s life will be held at the Golden Bay Motueka Funeral Centre, 8 Inglis Street, Mouteka, on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 1.00pm.


WAGHORN, Harold Lionel(Harry)

Harry’s family would like to advise of his passing on Sunday 1st August 2021. Much loved husband of Lois. Loved father and father-in-law of Craig, Lionel and Sharleen, Mark and Gaynor and Lisa and Andrew. Loved Grandfather of his 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Lois and the family would like to thank the wonderful team at Olive Tree Retirement Village for their care and loving support of both Harry and the family.
Harry will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers a donation in Harrys name to Alzheimer’s New Zealand would be appreciated. As per Harrys wishes a private cremation has taken place.



STONE, Dulcie Jean

Peacefully at Wellington Regional Hospital on 30 July 2021 surrounded by her family. In her 90th year. Loved wife of the late Don. Mother and mother-in-law of the late Greg, Michelle and Russell. Loved nana and great-grandma to many. Messages may be left in Dulcie’s tribute book at or sent c/- 119 Lincoln Street, Ashurst, Palmerston North 4810. In accordance with Dulcie’s wishes a private cremation has taken place.



On Friday, July 30, 2021, peacefully at home. Aged 91 years. Much loved husband of the late Keitha, dearly loved father of Dean (deceased), Robert, Mark, Victoria and Andrew. A service to celebrate Murray’s life will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel, cnr Henry & George Streets, at 1.00pm on Wednesday, August 4, followed by private cremation at the Sowman Crematorium.


JACK, Desmond Victor


Died 30 July 2021. Treasured brother, friend and business partner of Naomi and the late Nev Jack. Dearly loved uncle of Jason and Adele, Grant and Karen and Rich and Leanne and their families.

Passed away peacefully at Te Aroha Hospital on 1 August 2021, aged 84 years. Much loved wife of Allan for 64 years. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Dianne and Tony, Sandra, Paul and Sandra, Lorraine, and Grant. Adored Nana of 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A private family service will be held. BORLASE, Sonia Joan (née Rossiter)

Passed away suddenly and peacefully after a short illness, on Sunday, August 1, 2021, with family by her side, at Ashwood Park Retirement Village, Blenheim. Aged 85 years. Loved wife of 60 years of the late William James (Bill) Borlase, much loved mother of Ian (Australia), Wendy (Blenheim), and Michelle (Greymouth). Cherished nana of Mairin, Brier, Jason, Gina, Robbie, Aedan and Hamish, and great-nana of Saylor Jean. Much loved aunty of all her nieces and nephews. At Sonia’s request, a private cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Of Pahiatua, on Monday 2 August 2021, (unexpectedly) at Palmerston North Hospital, aged 61 years. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Trisha for nearly 38 years. Much loved Dad of David and Shandie, Nicola and Ben, Liz, and Simon. Treasured Grandad of Zia, Ella, Brandon, and Reese, and Hayley. Best mate to Brodie, Poppy, Rosemary, Pebbles, Betty, and Lexi.
