Death

SCANLAN, Noel

Passed away suddenly after a short illness on October 6, 2018. Noel worked at Corbans Wines for 30 years until 2000. In his early years he worked alongside many of the Corbans’ family and established an amazing work culture which he often said was simply a continuation of a family devoted to wine. Famila Vinis dedicata. Noel knew the front and back end of the company and worked in distribution, sales, marketing and was CEO for 10 years. He was an entrepreneur and the first in New Zealand to launch a boutique wine brand, Stoneleigh Vineyard, that was produced by a large wine company. He was an inspiring boss who encouraged and motivated his team and always rewarded hard work. We all had nick names which was part of the family work culture. Noel was full of life and had a great sense of humour. He always enjoyed sharing a good Chardonnay with friends and will be sadly missed by all of us who were lucky enough to work with him at Corbans Wines. Our thoughts go out to his family. God Bless Noel.
