Passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. A beloved wife, mother and grandmother. In keeping with family wishes, a private cremation was held yesterday (Friday). We invite family and friends to a memorial service to celebrate Debbie’s life at the Lascelles Hall, 17 Wilson Street (behind the Church), on Tuesday, September 29 at 2.00pm.

MacDONALD, Colin Donald

On September 22, 2020, passed away peacefully at Anthony Wilding Hospital, aged 94 years. Dearly and much loved husband of Doreen, loved father and father-in-law of Valerie and Ian Bright, and Alan, Jocelyn and Philip Richards, much loved granddad of Rachel, Wendy, and Jared; Sarah, and Emma; Daniel, and Lucy; loved great-granddad of his nine great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Anthony Wilding for their love and care of Colin and family. On September 22, 2020, Guy passed away peacefully at George Manning Lifecare, aged 94 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Jennifer, loved father and father-in-law of Mike and Helen, Jill and Rick, Pete and Sandy, Martin and Mary, and Sian and Lance. Loved grandpa of Lewis, Becky, Andrew, Sara, and Eli. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ferrymead Heritage Park would be appreciated. At Guy’s request, a private cremation will be held. BENSON, Alan Michael Charles (Mike)

On September 23, 2020, died peacefully at home surrounded by family, aged 81 years. Dearly loved husband of Sandra for 57 years, beloved father and father-in-law of Steve and Sarah, and Sharon and Andy, treasured granddad of Molly, Harriet, and Oliver. Special thanks to Dr Lucy Henry for her skill and compassion. Mike was a man of incredible intellect, amazing integrity and genuine humility. On September 24, 2020, passed away peacefully at Christchurch Hospital, in his 94th year. Dearly loved husband of the late Kathleen, loved and loving father of the late Nicholas, much loved brother of John, Judith Ann Peart, and the late Bernard, Peter, David, and Paul, a loved uncle, friend and colleague.

On Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Hastings, aged 76 years. Only son of the late Rosemary and Dick Absolom. Dearly loved husband of Star. Brother and brother-in-law of Sue and John Upton, Elizabeth and Tom Fleming, brother-in-law of Prue and Pete Jackson. Proud father and father-in-law of Jeremy and Annabelle, Daniel and Kate, Willie and Debs, and Ben and Katie. Treasured grandfather of Hugo, Archie, Ralph; Jacobie, Georgiana, Oscar; Star, Thomasina; Freddy, Arabella and Lachie. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of St John, Hawkes Bay Hospital and the Cranford Hospice for their wonderful care of John and support of the family. Died after a progressive illness, in Timaru, aged 73 years. Greatly loved oldest son of the late Alun and Anita Wynn-Williams, brother of Christa (Edinburgh), Damian (Gore), Giles and Kate (Dunedin), John and Jean (Hamilton, Ontario), Ivo and Margaret (Christchurch), Xavier and Mary (Toronto), and uncle to his nephews and nieces. Bernard was blessed with many talents, including an engaging personality and joie de vivre. We will all miss him greatly. May he rest in peace.
