Please message me to organise pickup from Swan Lane in Wellington. They need to be gone by next week and if they're not taken they will be put into the landfill which is something I want to avoid.

However it's my impression that it's something that one needs to register for and it operates on the mobile phone … View moreHi everyone - I know there is some sort of emergency notification system that can call mobile numbers in the case of emergency or potential/pending natural disaster. However it's my impression that it's something that one needs to register for and it operates on the mobile phone networks. I've just had a call on our landline from a very well-spoken ordinary English/Kiwi-sounding woman warning about some sort of emergency. We're not registered for any such system and as I didn't trust it, I hung up immediately. Has anyone else had this type of call? I'm used to the ones purportedly from Spark or Microsoft warning of computer gloom and doom, but one suggesting pending natural disaster is new to me.
