Hutt Valley (upper and lower) will no longer accept plastics 3-7.
Porirua and Wellington are ALREADY sending most of them to landfill, from our recycling bins. (ok, some type 5 goes to Malaysia but we don't really know what happens then)
Kapiti won't say what it's doing with theirs.
That leaves plastics 1 and 2, eg milk bottles and soft drink types.
Ice cream containers, "reusable" takeaway containers, shampoo/cleaning bottles, bottle lids, almost all of it is now landfill.
We need to be more aware about our waste, not feel good 'cause it can be chucked in a recycling bin! :-(

Should we be tougher on repayments of student loans?

Sharron Pardoe Reporter from Dominion Post

Figures released this month showed 8280 people made little or no repayments to student loans in the decade after they finished or pulled-out of tertiary studies in 2006, which put the Government into about $115 million worth of debt.
