Passed away peacefully at Charles Upham Retirement Village, Rangiora, aged 78. Loved husband of the late Heather. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Mavisanne. Adored father, father-in-law and grandad of Glen, Karen and Samuel, Aaron, Cécile, Marissa and Chloé. Cherished by his sisters and brothers Barbara (deceased), Margaret, Patrick (deceased), and Kevin, along with his step-sons and their families - Andrew, Nikki, Abby, Lily and James, and Hamish, Karin, Lennox and Ruben. A service to celebrate Bruce is to be held at the Rangiora Baptist Church, 111 East Belt, on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 1.00pm. Peacefully at Lister Home, Waimate, on Monday, January 9, 2023, aged 90 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Murray. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Graeme and Pam, and Ross. Loved grandma of Melissa and Jonny, Amy and Antz; Scott, and Nikita. Sister and sister-in-law of the late Rob Joyce, the late Bill and Hilda Joyce, and Jan and Ron Young. A service to celebrate Doreen’s life will be held at St Augustine’s Church, 15 John Street, Waimate, on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 1.00pm. Passed away peacefully after a long and courageous journey on Tuesday, 3rd January 2023. Aged 81 Years. Dearly loved husband of the late Alice. Adored father of Angela and Julie and father-in-law of Dave. Much loved granddad of Regan, Rach and Josh.
Finally at peace and reunited with his Alice (Alliebear).


At Moss’ request a private burial has taken place. There will be a Memorial Service for both Alice and Moss, to be held at The Morrinsville Events Centre, Ron Ladd Place, Morrinsville, on Wednesday, 8th February 2023, at 1.00pm. On January 8, 2023, peacefully at Nurse Maude Hospice, surrounded by family. Dearly loved husband of Marilyn, loved father and father-in-law of Nick and Kim, and Liz and Logan, treasured grandad of Georgia, Tayla, and Molly, loved by his “grandog” Piper. It is with sadness that we announce the death of Anne who passed away in the early hours of the morning, Tuesday 10 January 2023, aged 83 years. She leaves behind her husband Pat, her son and daughter-in-law Dave & Lynda, her daughter and son-in-law Sharon & Steve, her grandchildren Adele, Andrew & Fiona, Matt and Sarah, Alex & Lydia, and great-grandchildren Ellen, Sam, Ryleigh, Kayden, Thomas, Ada and Sophie. Anne was part of a large and loving family and also leaves behind her beloved brothers and brothers-in-law, her sister and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. A Requiem Mass will be held for Anne at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 86 Clarkin Road, Hamilton, on Friday 13 January at 1.30pm, followed by private cremation.

SPEEDY, Elizabeth Ida (Betty)

Betty passed away peacefully on 7 January 2023, aged 93. Adored wife of the late Reg, she leaves her three children – Vivienne, Barbara and Robert - with wonderful and loving memories of the most amazing mother, and will be missed by all three and their partners Royden, Nick and Teresa. A celebration of Betty’s long life will be held on Thursday 12 January at 10.30am, at Seddon Park Funeral Home, 49 Seddon Rd, Frankton, Hamilton.
Finally reunited with Reg,
the love of her life. It’s been an incredible journey.

Taranaki Provincial Fire Brigade Association and Taranaki Gold Star Association acknowledge the passing of Raymond Rook, Life Member and past Chief of Okato Fire Brigade. Ray was a member and patron of the Taranaki Provincial Fire Brigade Association, Gold Star member of Taranaki Gold Star Association and awarded a Queens Service Medal in 1990. Our condolences to Ray’s family, friends and Okato Fire Brigade. Funeral service for Ray is at the Abraham Funeral Home - Saturday 14th January 1100.
