STEPHENS, Beverley Merle

On Tuesday, April 7, 2020, in Christchurch. In her 92nd year. Loved wife of the late Allan. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Karen (deceased), Graeme and Elsha (Australia), and Raywyn and Michael. Dearly loved grandmother of her 7 granddaughters, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also remembered with love by Trish Carruthers, Kaye, Mauri, and the late Maurice Gray. BINNS, Helen Rosina (nee Cairns)

Died peacefully on December 22, 2022, in her 95th year, surrounded by family. Dearly loved wife of the late David Binns. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Judy Satori, Margaret and Dennis Robertson, Jenny Binns, Chris and Martin Wilson and Sue Binns. Treasured Grandma of Nick and Richard Humphreys, Oliver Robertson, David and Robbie Currie , Alice Joyce and Hugh and Mary Wilson, Sid and Harry Wales and their partners. Loved Great-Grandmother of Rai, Sarcha and Gracie Humphreys, Rex and Fiona Currie, and Lucia Garcia Wilson. Grateful thanks to the staff of Summerset on Wigram and Diane Joyce for their dedicated and loving care of Helen, and the Nurse Maude staff who allowed Helen to stay at home as long as she could. Helen will be farewelled with a celebration of her life at 1.00pm on January 13, at 14 Busch Lane, off Springs Rd, Christchurch.

CUSACK, Vincent Burfield

On December 18, Vincent called stumps on a stylish innings, bowled out on 85. An all-rounder with considerable flair, Vincent started his sporting career in Otago before creating some of the finest pitches across Canterbury. His highlights included a 68-year stand in men’s hairdressing and a captaincy role in helping others to step up to the crease. He also set a 62-year partnership with Grace and welcomed Martine and Stephen and Darin and Louisa to the crease, with grandchildren Luke and Romy entering down the batting order. Among the wider touring party were the Dalziel, Burns, and McLeod families, who all made significant contributions to the total. Vincent finally returned to the pavilion after a long and dedicated innings. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dementia Canterbury would be appreciated and can be made at the service or online at dementiacanterbury.org.nz Messages to the Cusack family may be sent c/- PO Box 111-01, Sockburn, Christchurch 8443. A Memorial Service for Vincent will be held in the Christ’s College Chapel, Rolleston Avenue, Christchurch, on Friday, January 13, 2023. Play gets under way at 1.30pm.

Passed away fairly peacefully on Wednesday 4 January 2023. Devoted wife, friend and lover of Malcolm. Mother of Shane, Stuart, Angela and John.

Passed away peacefully at Nurse Maude Hospital on January 4, 2023, aged 88 years. Beloved wife of the late Jim. Adored Mum of Wendy and Karen, mother-in-law of Graeme. Treasured Nana of James, Hannah, Megan, Hollie, Madison, Amy, Brad and Nana to her 11 great-grandchildren. Sister of the late Ralph Clarkson. Unexpectly passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Gingin, WA, on Tuesday 20th December 2022. Aged 62. Dearly loved partner to Paul Buckley, mother to Amelia, Elizabeth, mother-in-law to Josh and Sean, Grandmother to Manu, Meah, Mani, Killian and life long friend of Terry Lawlor.
