On Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Springlands Lifestyle Village. In his 95th year. Deeply loved and cherished husband of the late Pauline. Treasured and respected Father/Father-in-law of Cheryl and Phillip Sowman, Janette May (Deceased) Sandeep Davli (Wellington), Dianne and Henry Raemaekers (Perth) and the late Paul. Cherished Pop of Brad and Monique (Australia), Nina and Roger (Blenheim) and Josh (Perth). Great-Pop to Sophia, Cruz, Ava, Archie and Evie. John was a passionate Marlbourian, who keenly shared his local knowledge. Never backward to lend a hand to help get a job done. He was humbled to receive the “Paul Harris” medal for service to Rotary. John also gave decades of service to the Marlborough Vintage Car Club, Brayshaw Park, Probus and other committees. The majority of his working life was spent as a loyal Cuddon employee for over 40 years. Taking pleasure from life’s simple things, he loved a bit of banter, company of friends and a good laugh. His unconditional love enriched our family. Our hearts are sad but rest peacefully knowing you will always be deeply loved. Messages to the family can be sent to 41 Swamp Road, RD3 Blenheim. A private cremation at the Sowman Crematorium has been held.
Much loved and cherished wife of Chris, loving mother and mother-in-law of Sarah-Jane and Josh and Matt and Desiree, passed peacefully at the Mary Potter Hospice on Tuesday 10 January 2023. Loved daughter and daughter-in-law of Jane and the late Brian Watts and John and Marie Harvey. Treasured sister and sister-in-law to Karen and the late Richard, Barbara and Trevor, Janet and Amosa, Virginia and Murray and Steve and the late Sally. Adored grandmother to Elsie, Kiera, Greer, and Regan. Beloved aunt to all her nieces and nephews Isabella and Patrick, Maxine and Henry, Corey, Randall, Heloise and Candace, Joanne and Jason, Emma and Scott. Special thanks to Dr Anne O’Donnell for her support over the last three years and to the team at the Mary Potter Hospice for the love and care given in the last few days of Susan’s life, particularly Dr Alana Wilson and nurses, Sally and Dianne. On January 12, 2023 at Nurse Maude, Merivale. At peace now after a short but gallant battle with cancer. Dearly loved sister of Frank and Adrienne, cherished sister-in-law of John and Lyndsey, very special aunt to her nieces and nephews. A dear and cherished friend to her many ‘girl’ friends. Their kindness and love shown to Libby in her final journey was remarkable. In accordance with Libbys’ wishes there will be no funeral. Heartfelt thanks to the Nurse Maude staff who gave her special loving care at her home during her final weeks and those at the hospice. A celebration of Libby’s life will be held on Sunday, January 15 at Libby’s home from 2.00pm.

A service for Ngaire will be held in the Wanaka Presbyterian Community Church Centre, 91 Tenby Street, on Saturday, January 14 at 1.00pm, followed by a private cremation. Noeleen passed away peacefully at Christchurch Hospital on December 31, 2022. She was a mother to 10 and ‘Nana’ to many many more.
