CLEGG, Marie Therese(nee Geary)

Passed away peacefully at Hutt Hospital, on Friday, January 6, 2023, aged 88 years. Raised in Devonport, sister to David (dec) and Tony (dec). Marie began a career in nursing and dedicated her life to raising a family; and devotion to the church and community - together with her dearly beloved (late) husband, Pat. Much loved mother of Brendan, Chris, Paul, Nicola (dec), John and Amanda. Mother-in-law of Joanne, Stefania and Lulu. Cherished Grandmother of Olivia, Lucy, Matteo, Daniel, Sam, Jo and Alex. Special thanks to the many dedicated carers including Bev, Ruth and Joy and all 4th floor hospital staff at Bob Scott Retirement Village. Rosary is to be held at St Peter & Pauls Catholic Church, 60 Knights Rd, Lower Hutt, on Wednesday 11th January at 7.00pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated there on Thursday 12th January at 11.00am, followed by interment at Taita Cemetery. All messages to “the Clegg family” C/- PO Box 30-127, Lower Hutt 5040.

BONE, David Gordon(Dave)

Suddenly on Friday, the 30th of December 2022 as a result of an accident. Dearly loved best friend and partner to Robyn. Loved Dad to Jason, Tony and Zeb. Adored Grandad to Scarlett. Rest in peace with his mate "Scoob-Doo", and will be missed by Toby. According to Dave’s wishes a private cremation has been held, with a Memorial service to be held at a later date.

Peacefully on 6th January 2023, aged 95 years. Beloved wife of the late David. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Andrew and Janet, Rosie Bauckham, Philip (deceased) and Lizzie, and Peter and Stephanie. Loved grandmother of Amy, Sam, Fergus, Biddy; Grant; and Susanna. Loved great-grandmother of Shilo and Willo. A service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held at Rosewood, 415 Queen Street, Masterton, on Thursday 12 January at 2.00pm, followed by cremation.

Passed away peacefully on 6 January 2023. Dearly beloved husband of Justine for 62 years. Adored father of Nicola and Erin, and father-in-law of Nigel. Cherished Poppa of Patrick and Kristen, Katie and Jed, Liam, James and Laura. Great-Poppa of Louis, Georgia, Millie and Poppy. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 494 Grey Street, Hamilton East, on Wednesday 11 January at 11.00am. Parking via Beale Street entrance. Margaret passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Otago Community Hospice. Loved Mum and mother-in-law of Jacquie and Brent, Bel and Barry. Cherished Nana and Great-Nana of Shani and Aaron, Riley and Tyler.

CROSBIE, John Charles

On Saturday, January 7, 2023, after a long battle with Parkinson’s, aged 68 years. Dearly loved husband and soulmate of Cath (nee Malcolm), loved Dad and father-in-law of Emma and Steve, Scott and Lisa, Sarah and Carl, adored Grampie of Beth, Brian, Hannah, and Becs, Alexa, and Ciaran, Millie, Isla, and Fletcher, loved brother of David and Wendy, loved uncle of Michael, Andrew, and Michelle, loved cousin, and friend to many. A special thanks to staff of Ward BG at Burwood Hospital for their kindness and care for John and his family. Peacefully on 7th January 2023 with his loving family at his side, aged 77 years. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Peter & Felicity, Tracy & Damon, Donald & Virginie, Michael & Allana Sluys, Nick & Laura. Beloved Grandad to all his grandchildren and great-grandchild.

NONUMALO, Mele

Passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord on Friday 6th January 2023 at Hutt Hospital, having been surrounded by the love of her children, grandchildren and the many friends who visited or called, over a number of days in hospital. Beloved daughter of the late Tafeamali’i and Malutafa, and dearest sister of many in Samoa, New Zealand and further abroad. Also much loved by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Devoted wife of the late Nonumalo Eneliko Nonumalo. Cherished mum to Nonumalo Iulia, Vito & Gina, David, Mele & Iuliano, and Nana to Javagn, Xycacia, Aliana, Fa’aniniva, Penina, Thomas, Keana, Anaia and Layla. A family service to celebrate the life of Mele will take place Tuesday 10th January at 6.30pm, and a Requiem Mass will be on Wednesday 11th January at 11.00am. Both of these will be at Mum’s beloved church, St Bernadette’s Catholic Church, Naenae Road, after which she will be laid to rest with Dad, at Taita Cemetary.

Born 1940 (formerly of Tarata) peacefully on Saturday morning January 7, 2023, surrounded by his family. Loved husband of Jane for 56 years. Cherished father of Judith and Rob Bower (Southland), Miles and Kim Waite (Toko), Frances and Murray Butler (Urenui). Fun-loving Grandad of Claudia and Eru, Ben and Chloe, and Alexander Bower; Gus and Pippa Waite; Tom, Jack and Brooke, and Ani Butler. On Boxing Day evening, at home surrounded by his family. Always loved husband of Judy (Spry), father of Sarah King and her husband Stephen, and of Benj and his wife Justine. Adored grandfather of Aaron and his wife Lauren, Hannah and her partner Zac, Edie and Ira Berryman, and step-grandfather of Charlie and Sofia. Much-admired film-maker, photographer and parishioner at Wellington Cathedral of St Paul. Messages to the family may be left in Jay’s tribute book at www.tributes.co.nz.... A service to celebrate Jay’s life will be held at Wellington Cathedral of St Paul, Molesworth Street, Thorndon, Wellington, on Thursday 19 January 2023 at 12.30pm, followed by a private cremation.

A life well lived,
a woman of faith and love.
Dearly loved by all her family, loved sister of Elizabeth* and Ray Anderson, and Norman and Barbara Andrews (Te Anau). Special Aunt to Bernie, Rodger and John, and to all the Pope family. Great-aunt and adopted aunt to many. She will be dearly missed. A celebration service will be held in the Eastside Baptist Church, 2 Glengarry Cresent, Invercargill, at 11.00am on Saturday, January 14. Passed away peacefully on December 31, 2022, surrounded by family. Brother to Anthony (deceased) and Christine Arnesen, Karl and Alison Arnesen, and Caroline and Mike McGee. Beloved uncle to 10 nieces and nephews, and a great friend to many. Special thanks to the staff of Christchurch Hospital and Nurse Maude Hospice for their care and support in these last few weeks.
