Super Shot Saturday Vaccination Day - 16th October

Richard Herbert from Rotary Club of Tawa Inc.

Help us get our local community fully vaccinated.

Tawa Rotary is working with the Tawa Medical Centre and local MP Greg O'Conner to help promote the upcoming vaccination day.

Hopefully most people reading this are already vaccinated so the message is really for people to have a conservation with their family and friends to breakdown any remaining hesitation and get the job completed.

The vaccine clinic at the Tawa Medical Centre Linden Surgery, 49 Hinau Street, Linden, continues to have space available. And on "Super Saturday Vaccination Day" on 16th October, they will be open for walk-ins between 10am and midday. Else give then a call to make a booking for during the week - 04-232 7193.

Other nearby vaccination centres that will be open for the "Super Saturday Vaccination Day" include Johnsonville Shopping Centre (next to Nada Bakery), and at the Waitangirua Vaccination Center, Maraeroa Marae, 216 Warspite Avenue, Waitangirua, Porirua (9am to 1pm).

We can also offer transport to a vaccination centre if required.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
