Pet of the Day: Hazel
This weeks Pet of the Day is Hazel, a cavapoochon. Cavapoochon are a triple-cross breed, combining the best traits of the Cavalier King Charles, Bichon Frise and Toy Poodle.
Proud owner Fiona Soffe says Hazel is well known in Kilbirnie.
"She’s four years old and we’ve owned her since she was five weeks old, I formula feed her till she was old enough to start solids. She’s a princess."

Stamps wanted
I run a Stamp club at Tawa School to encourage children to collect stamps and learn about countries, history and more. Unfortunately new stamps aren't often seen these days as it's all electronic! If you have any stamps or old collections sitting around, let me know and I'll come and get them.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
