Good Sorts provide free kai for tamariki
A Wellington charity supporting vulnerable young people is now providing lunch up to 1,500 tamariki every day, improving the students' engagement and school attendance rates.
A Vulnerable Support Charitable Trust initiative, Do Some Good, has now been extended into six more schools with help from Wellington City Council.
The schools are Tawa Intermediate School, Berhampore School, St Anne’s School, Newtown School, Ngahauranga Te Kohanga Reo, and Te Iwi Kohanga Reo.
Stamps wanted
I run a Stamp club at Tawa School to encourage children to collect stamps and learn about countries, history and more. Unfortunately new stamps aren't often seen these days as it's all electronic! If you have any stamps or old collections sitting around, let me know and I'll come and get them.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
