Collins Avenue Overbridge Works - Road and Footpath Closures
The footpath under the new motorway bridge in Collins Avenue is still in its "temporary" construction state and gets flooded when there is heavy rain and means pedestrians have to walk out on the road (which also has an uneven surface). The lighting under the bridge is over the north kerb line and not over the footpath. There are breaks in the surfacing that have to be stepped over when going out onto the road and even the hump in the road is not even as was done in two halves. TG do not seem to recognise the issue and do something about - and quickly - and the WCC dont seem to be able to get something to change. Has anybody got any ideas - should we try and get something into the Wellington paper. I believe this is a dangerous hazard just waiting to happen - and I really dont want people to get hurt.
Regards
Bill Darnell
