Tawa volunteer Fire Brigade 75th Open & Display Day, Saturday 26th October 2019
Yes indeed folks, we've been here serving and protecting Tawa (and the greater Wellington area) for 75 years! On Saturday, 26th October 2019, (Labour weekend) from 10:00am to 2:00pm we'll be holding a Open & Display Day at the station from 10:00 to 2:00pm. We'd love to see you there! Displays from Fire & Emergency New Zealand (FENZ), Wellington Free Ambulance, Wellington Police, Wellington Rural Fire Force, Coastguard Mana, Wellington Emergency Response Team (NZRT8), SPCA Rescue, Civil Defence, Wellington Water, Wellington Airport Fire Rescue, Tawa Community Patrol.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
