Sam's piece, "Concert Overture", composed especially for this concert, is in a distinctly Haydn-esque style to complement other Haydn works performed by the orchestra.
The Tawa Orchestra is a community orchestra that formed as part of the Tawa Community Education Programme at Tawa College and attracts players of all ages and walks of life.

Porirua City Council general manager Steve Perdia said the council considered it an "appropriate spend to look into options for a vital piece of council-owned property and to understand costs under various scenarios".
But the drawings were nowhere to be seen during a "tell us what you think" public consultation.
