Winter Ceilidh (Celtic dance)
Saturday June 29 at 7 pm
An evening of Celtic Dancing at Ngaio Union Church (cnr Kenya St and Crofton Rd). Entry free. Family friendly and no alcohol but cold drinks provided. All dances are taught and called. No previous experience is necessary. Please bring a small plate to share for supper. Koha is invited for Ngaio Community Assistance Fund)

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
