2/ MONTERAY MOVIE COMPLEX. Comfortable theatres but services, high costs and lack lustre restaurant/cafe leave much to be desired.
3/ NEW RETAIL STORE IN CBD. This replacement for the burnt-down Hallensteins shop is just a single storey thus missing the opportunity to create apartments above the retail space and set-up the CBD for a mix of retail etc and accommodation/living quarters.
4/ THE MALL. Third rate and so does not provide for an exciting, creative and interesting place to visit that set's it apart from others.

Roger Myers (USA) will feature in Schumann's enchanting "Fairy Tale Pictures" and Roger Benedict (Australia) will feature in Walton’s Viola Concerto. This promises to be a New Zealand cultural highlight of the year.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand - Lower Hutt

And the Fire Fighters from Fire and Emergency NZ have certainly seen some creative methods of drying clothes, you just need to look at the attached photo that was sent to us to see that.
With the ongoing wet weather, it seems timely to remind our neighbours of some simple fire safety around using heaters and dryers to get our washing dry. In winter, fire involving heating and clothes drying are the second most common reason Hutt Valley Fire Fighters are called out, second only to fires that start in the kitchen.
Here are simple fire safety rules to remember while you're trying to dry your washing indoors in this weather:
- Keep everything at least one metre away from a heater or fireplace - we call that the "Heater Metre Rule". This includes wet clothes, bedding, furniture, and people.
- Never put or hang clothes on a heater to dry. Don't store anything on top of your heating appliance, and never cover your heater with anything.
- Don't overload clothes dryers and clean out the lint filter after each load cycle.
And if an open fire or woodburner is your choice of heating or drying your clothes, remember....
Ashes can take up to five days to cool, always put them into a metal bin when cleaning out your fireplace, and pour water on them before disposal.
And no; we don't recommend using your oven as a clothes dryer, heater, or anything else not connected with cooking your dinner!

They are overwhelmed by hurt, sadness, and - perhaps worst of all - despair that they will find a *lasting* love.
There are many tears shed in my office - some of them my own tears of empathy, because I can remember what it feels like to wonder...if I would always be alone. Now, married and parenting , I am all the more CERTAIN...that what we DO with our heartache makes or breaks our dreams for the future.
One question I ask these women who sit across from me is: What are you going to do with this pain? Are you going to put it to work? Find the higher meaning? Turn it into motivation to do WHATEVER is necessary - emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and *strategically* - to go from heartache...to happiness?
