Community Focus Trust obtained government funding to order the prepacked boxes from food{together} for delivery to some folk struggling through the COVID19 lockdown. A few of us got the privilege of seeing the smiles (from a distance obviously) as people spotted the box on their driveway and took it inside. Awesome team work and such a pleasure to be part of. Thanks

Hamish and Suzy Hutton were already planning to launch an online farmers' market when coronavirus ignited the global online food shopping craze.

Luckily for them, they'd already done the hard yards, building the platform, testing the site and enticing dozens of artisan suppliers to get on board.

The pressure to help suppliers get their goods out swiftly convinced the Canterbury couple to bring the site to life early, launching the Marker2u shop in late March.

Northgate hopes to be "open for business" asap but we are also committed to doing this safely and within the regulations. So keep an eye on this page and it will give you our updates as we get guidance from the government. What is our business you ask??. Social connection is one of our biggest goals. We are a small social service agency in Papanui with a goal to be part of building a connected and caring community. We have been offering support services for folk/caregivers, senior exercise classes, a Foot Care Clinic for those who can no longer cut their own nails, monthly hairdressing service, a vege coop and a hip-hop dance school. We are not sure exactly what we and the community will look like after this COVID19 Pandemic but one thing is sure we will still be around and we will still be doing our best to provide place and opportunity for connection and care for those in the community. Watch this space!!!
