When a stranger’s beagle went missing in thick bush near Wellington, 39-year-old Whanganui carver Zane Hair volunteered to spend more than a week searching in cold and stormy weather, accompanied by his beloved 14-year-old bulldog Zeke.

After nine days, Benny the beagle was found alive and Zane formed a lasting friendship with Benny’s owner, Matt Newman-Hall. “What Zane did is incredible … I find it really amazing that someone was willing to go that far for a complete stranger,” he says.

I’ve been making this beautiful creamy yoghurt now for 9 years and have kept the culture going all that time . I use organic milk and cream, and it’s so easy to make, you just add about one and a half litres of milk or 50/50 milk and cream ( which is what I do) to a cup full of the culture, and leave it at room temperature. (24 hours in the winter, 14 hours in the summer) and it’s done! You put it in the fridge to chill and it’s ready to eat! Before you start eating it you keep a cupful in another container for your next brew. You will LOVE the taste. I’m offering a cupful for $10.00 and if you take care of it you have it for life! Your yoghurt from then on will only cost you the price of the milk. Lovely for breakfast with your fruit and cereal.To research Caspian Sea Yoghurt go to Wikipedia ...here.. en.m.wikipedia.org...

Hi

On 15 September at the Village Community Centre (365a Ilam Road) Burnside Primary school PTA will be hosting a table top toy sale. This is a great opportunity to have a pre Christmas clear out of your good quality, toys, books, puzzles and games. We'll also have some fantastic home baking and refreshments for sale. All profits will go towards supporting the children of Burnside Primary School.

We are offering 3 table sizes, which you can hire for the duration of the sale. It's up to you to present and sell your items and, once you've paid for the table hire, the profits from your sales are yours to keep!

Large trestle tables (suitable for sharing with a friend or group) are $25;
standard sized tables are $15 and small round tables (which would perhaps suit a supervised child wanting to earn some pocket money) are $8. Sharing a table would be a good option if you are hoping to shop as well as sell.

We have a limited number of tables available so please reply to this message ASAP if you'd like to reserve your spot. More details will be available on booking.
