Early Literacy in Preparation for School
Is your child starting school in Term Two 2023? If so you may be interested in joining a talk on how to encourage literacy, reading and maths, at Highland Park Library - Saturday 18 March 10.30am. We will also show you the resources the library has to help you along the way as you prepare your child for school. We presented this talk back in August 2022 and it was well received, this is a chance for anyone that missed it to come along. You will also receive a fun activity pack along with tips how to use it. The 30 minute session will have time for questions afterwards. Spaces are limited, so please get in touch if you want to book your spot.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
