Our homes can be our greatest investment and protecting our homes against climate change has become more important than ever.

Our changing climate poses risks to our natural and built environments. Swiss Re in a global analysis of insurance risk said to “expect climate risks to raise global property premiums by 33-41% between 2020 and 2040”. The potential increase was deemed a direct consequence of our changing climate.

Our Climate Insights property report provides easily understood information on change to risks for your current or a future property. The report includes robust and actionable information for residential property owners, tenants and investors to enhance their property’s climate resilience.

Hi neighbours,

Sir John Key’s recent media blitz was full of suggestions for how the Covid-19 response could have been done better. Some have been found to be false (such as his claim we could have paid Pfizer for preferential supply), and some seem to have lit a fire under the Government to get things moving (such as the suggestion of home quarantining).

How do you feel about Key’s contribution?

Nissan Prairie Joy 1995 M11 engine overheats due to cooling system severe problems occurred at mid July 2020 (the radiator cracks and leaks, can't hold any coolant or water. there might be some rust/residue built up inside the cooling system to make the circulation very poor. The water pump might have problems also, making it difficult to circulate the coolant through the cooling system. The coolant temperature sensor might be damaged also, leading the cooling fans to stop working. The engine has been working well before and no oil leaking issue).

At the moment, the engine starts well, but after driving for 15+ minutes, the engine starts to overheat.

Purchased this vehicle in Jan 2012, but hardly used it, as having been working from home, and parking it most of the time at the garage. Mainly used it for shopping, visiting family members nearby. Passing WOF easily most of the time before, the latest WOF and Rego were both expired at early of 2020 (can check the details here www.carjam.co.nz... for registration AWY423), and didn't update them due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

1) The vehicle body/frame/structure, transmission, clutch, braking, power steering and internal & external etc. conditions are quite good for its age. If looking for a donor vehicle for an Electric Vehicle conversion, this is a quite good option to consider if it meets your EV conversion design criteria.

Or

2) Sold as separate parts piece by piece.

1) Looking for a good condition used plastic water tank with 1 m3 to 1.5 m3 volume, maximum diameter 1.3 m, maximum height 2 m, plus the necessary plumbing connection parts

2) Looking for a good condition used rectangle swimming pool with water holding capacity between 8000 liter to 10000 liter, height 1.2+ m, plus all the required accessories

3) Looking for good condition used drainage pipes with 80 mm to 90 mm diameter, 15 m length in total, plus the necessary plumbing connection parts

4) The above is for my planned vegetables and fruit trees gardens which could be implemented in the next a few years period. This is the very low priority tasks, not urgent at all, as I have been having more than enough free vegetables and fruits to consume. But now it is the good time to start to look for the suitable good condition used water tank, swimming pool and drainage pipes, don't have to be the brand new ones, as I have no intention to sell my property at all. Oops, I repeat this one more time here again.

MECOSS first began the Manukau East Shopping Shuttle in 2007, after identifying a need to help people who depended on family and friends or had to pay to get their shopping done.

“Many of these people were confined to their homes with few and limited choices for socialising,” says initiator Vasu Moses. “That was when I felt that if I could move and shake a few people something could be done to organise a weekly shopping trip for our seniors.

The Salvation Army jumped on board to offer free use of their van, Age Concern organised the passengers, and Botany Town Centre offered free hot drinks and a good shopping venue for people with limited mobility, and the service was born. From there the shuttle went from from strength to strength.

In 2021, MECOSS has its own van, a shopping-shuttle-coordinator and a hard working team of 25 volunteer drivers and companion shoppers.

The Manukau East Shopping Shuttle continues to be a wonderful community service helping those that otherwise might struggle to make it to a shopping centre on a regular basis while having a bit of fun in the process.
Anyone who wants to be part of the Manukau East Shopping Shuttle can contact Maureen on 0800 632 677.

Face-to-face meetings are getting more and more important, especially with everything online these days.
That's why MECOSS holds Dance Yourself Happy, the Pakuranga & Howick Community Networking Meeting and the Botany & Flat Bush & Ormiston Networking Meeting at local community halls and venues.
Community space is a non-threatening place where people can all feel a part of something valuable. Theses hubs are part of the glue that binds communities and keeps connections alive - they're a physical representation of a sense of connectedness.
