At Citizens Advice Bureau, we are incredibly fortunate to have over 2,000 volunteers serving in their local communities, delivering free information and advice to people, and doing this with care, skill and dedication. Using the current exchange rate, that’s a combined value of more than NZ$111,448 per hour! 😮

The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
