Sailing legend guest DJs on East FM, Saturday arvo from 3pm
Two-time Olympic Games medallist Bruce Kendall is a local legend and Kiwi sailing great, and, a big music enthusiast and that's why he's the special guest DJ on tomorrow's She'll Be Right on Saturdays Show with PJ Taylor, 3-7pm (NZ time), July 16 on EAST FM 88.1 107.1 www.eastfm.nz...
Bruce won the gold medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics in boardsailing, after claiming a bronze medal four years earlier at the Games in Los Angeles. Throughout his life in the world of competitive sailing and coaching, music has always played an important role in getting him revved up for racing and relaxed and thoughtful when away from the water.
Bruce has prepared a superb playlist for Saturday's show, a soundtrack to his life, and he'll explain the significance of songs and the stories from when he first heard them. Listeners are in for a treat as there is plenty of variety and potentially new discoveries on the horizon.
The She'll Be Right on Saturdays Show beams out of East FM, East Auckland's legendary community-powered public service radio station broadcasting on local frequencies 88.1FM and 107.1FM, nationally and globally at www.eastfm.nz... and on app iHeart Radio.
She'll Be Right - it's all about the vibe; it's all about the groove. And on Saturday we are sailing and playing Bruce Kendall's playlist. - PJ

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
