Fairway Gardens
re promotional message from Fairway Gardens trying to sell their apartments. This development at the bottom of our driveway is unwelcome and unwanted and always was from local residents. Fact is the infrastructure around the area is not designed to support this scale of development. We objected and basically got told to p*** off by the council. The main issue is we don't want a bunch of old folks exiting the complex in an area of high speed traffic, soley out of concern for their safety. This will absolutely end badly. There was a simpler answer, route exiting traffic from this place to the traffic controlled lights at the golf course. But no, they're too dumb for that. My issue isn't with the development, it's with the design which is flawed. People could die.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
