Poll: Should it stay or should it go?
Auckland Council's Panuku Development says any of its publicly-owned properties with "no apparent service need" will be sold to fund other projects.
The former Howick Borough Council headquarters and Howick Police Station at 34 Moore Street, Howick, is one property that may be added to Panuku's list.
But community leaders, including Howick Local Board members, insist the property, paid for by Howick ratepayers, should not be sold and instead be kept for the use of the community.
Should the council sell 34 Moore Street?
-
17% There is no need to keep it in public ownership. Sell it.
-
83% It needs to be retained in public ownership and opened up to community interests
