Meet the candidates tonight (21st) and next week
The Tawa Residents Association is hosting two “Meet the Candidates” evenings in September - bringing all the candidates to you here in Tawa so you can ask them the tough questions:
Wednesday 21 September - Mayoral and Tawa Community Board Candidates, 7pm at the Tawa Community Centre
Wednesday 28 September - Takapū/Northern Ward Councillor Candidates, 7pm at the Tawa Community Centre
Both evenings will be heavily focused on asking the candidates questions - we want them to respond to what locals in Tawa want to know about. So come prepared with your questions or comment below with what you’d like us to ask the candidates.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
