Kim Chee Chin from the old Tawa Fruit Mart passed away

Jack from Tawa

As there is now a formal notice about this in The Dominion Post, I thought I should mention this on Neighbourly. Chee ran the Tawa Fruit Mart on Main Road, Tawa for many years with his wife Jean and his son, Ming—Ming is my uncle by marriage. Chee passed away at 3.30 p.m. last Sunday after a short illness at Wellington Hospital. I’m sure he’s well known to the community, having lived in Tawa since 1980 and having run the shop for many years until he and Jean retired in 2012. His service is at Our Lady of Fatima Church on the corner of Lyndhurst Street and Main Road next Wednesday (28th) at 11 a.m. if any old friends would like to pay their respects.
