We need your support

Barry from Cockle Bay

With over 70 % decline in the Cockle Population (over 5 years ) we must have a 5 year closure to enable the beds to rebuild
and use this time to evaluate the future for harvesting shellfish off this popular beach. Apart from their ability to filter polluted
water, feed the fish and birds their shells break down and replenish the beach. After every storm thousands of dead Shellfish
wash up and help form our beautiful beach.
