March is the month to have your say on some of the big issues facing Auckland. Auckland Council is currently consulting on its 10-year Budget - including local board priorities, the Auckland Plan 2050 and plans on waste management and minimisation and pest management.
There are several meetings in the Howick area over the next week to speak with elected members and to have your say or go to www.akhaveyoursay.nz... to make a submission by 28 March.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
