East Aucklanders shell out concerns over cockle harvesting
Increased gathering of cockles at an East Auckland beach has residents worried the national resource is being pillaged beyond repair. Hundreds of residents have signed a recent petition that calls for the Ministry for Primary Industries to review how often it surveys the beach and to further restrict collecting.
