FREE water safety workshop for early childhood educators
How can we help keep our under-5s, the family and whanau safer around water? How could every day water activities in an early childhood setting, and the local environment, be used to develop safer practices around water? These are some of the questions we will be discussing at a water safety professional learning and development workshop we are holding for early childhood educators on 28 June, at Highland Park.
When: 6.15 - 7.45 pm, Wednesday 28 June.
Where: Highland Park Community House, Aviemore Drive.
The workshop will be delivered by Aquatic Educator Lynley Stewart, an experienced and registered teacher. All participants will receive a copy of the Stay With Me Around Water teaching kit and Fishing with Papa big book. Full details on the attached flyer, click on the link to register online now.
Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
