Does Porirua City need a hospital with an accident and emergency department?
Mayor Mike Tana says he wants a fully-equipped A and E service for the city - not just the after-hours doctor's service currently offered at Kenepuru Hospital.
He says Porirua could be cut off from Wellington in a disaster and needs to be self-sufficient.
What do you think? Does a city of 54,000 warrant its own accident and emergency service or are you happy to use Wellington Hospital?

Stamps wanted
I run a Stamp club at Tawa School to encourage children to collect stamps and learn about countries, history and more. Unfortunately new stamps aren't often seen these days as it's all electronic! If you have any stamps or old collections sitting around, let me know and I'll come and get them.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
