Matariki evening at the Miramar & Maupuia Community Centre
Matariki is almost upon us.
Nau mai haere mai ki te Miramar & Maupuia Community Centre hei whakanui i a Matariki. - Come to the Miramar & Maupuia Community Centre to celebrate/honour Matariki on July 8 at 4PM.
There will be a speaker to talk to us about Matariki. A fire will be burning outside and we will drop our dreams into it (written on paper) to send to Hiwa-i-te-rangi, the star who looks after our dreams and hopes.
Free, all welcome
Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?
Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.
This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.
We want to know: Should this be rolled out across all coastal cities in Aotearoa? And more importantly… would you get involved? 💚

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
