A caller to Stuff's Wellington newsroom reported that the Turkish
angora was stuck in a car on Victoria St in central Wellington early
on Tuesday morning.
When reporters arrived at the scene, Mittens was inside the car and, evidently, eager to get out.
Help was soon on the way in the form of Mittens' owner Silvio Bruinsma
who plucked Mittens from the car to take back home.
It seems that Mittens had been wandering the streets and a
well-meaning member of the public put him in their car due to concern
for the cat. They had then called Bruinsma,, who (as he has done many
times before) went to Mittens' rescue. -Tom Hunt

I now know of 2 owners with Mazda vehicles who when turning the ignition on and or/radio a female voice says 2 sentences. One is not very audible, the other sentence is' WTF up' in the Demio 2013. The USB port has been checked. It's not radio interference so what is going on! "Nice to see a grey warbler/riroriro (Gerygone igata) in the weekend. I'm not hearing them as much now the cicadas have cranked themselves up to full volume. It's probably the end of the breeding season as well. I was interested to read that only the males do the summer warbling, apparently the females only have a short chirp call. Don't ask me why this turkey is hanging upside down - there's always one."

I am a little shy and will tolerate gentle pants so I would love a quiet, patient home with no children (teenagers may be fine) and no other animals.
I would love a home where I can potter around and toast myself in the sun. I do come with a medical waiver that my new owners would need to be aware of.
If you think you are the home for me please contact the Feline Team at SPCA’s Wellington Centre.

As part of our new waste bylaw, yellow rubbish bags cannot contain more than 10% green waste.
But don’t worry! When you bring your green waste to the Southern Landfill it will be turned into Capital Compost – and it only costs $5 to dispose of up to 85kg!
For more information about the bylaw and alternative ways to deal with your green waste, visit:

What happens at Pipitea Marae?
It was built in the late-70's and I never hear about anything happening there. It is promoted as a Function Centre. Have you ever been to a recent event held there?
