We Need You!!!
Hello Everyone
You may have happened to notice the crime happening around our community. Do you want to try and do something about it? Perhaps you may want to join the police in the future.
Have you seen the vehicle going around the suburbs and wondered who we are?
Are you possibly interested in getting the volunteer version of 'Better work stories'?
We, at Wellington South Community Patrol, are always looking for new volunteers to join our team, and therefore are offering you the chance to to join us on a patrol to see what we do.
We are the 'eyes and ears' for the Police, late at night on the weekends and during the day through the week. We have our own vehicle; we patrol in teams of two or three(Safety comes first); the patrol is over 10 years old and one of the more successful community patrols in Wellington City, with having excellent results. We patrol everywhere south of the Basin Reserve.
If this is you, please do not hesitate to reply below or message us.
If you see anything suspicious or untoward happening, please call 111 and let them know. If you are uncomfortable with this and you see us around let us know and we will report it for you.
Thanks
Cath

Constable Street car wash rip off!
Hi, today I went to the Constable Street car wash that's beside the petrol station. After depositing $6 for three different rinse cycles I discovered that there was no water pressure for any of them. I had just foamed my car so I had to drive around and join the que again to use the left car wash....this time I discovered that $2 only rinses half of my small Suzuki Swift whereas $2 used to rinse the whole car nicely. Two or three weeks ago I encountered the same 'no water pressure' problem there. I imagine that people will be depositing $2 coins to no avail in a continuous stream. It appears that the owner doesn't care about providing a proper service to to their paying customers.
Poll: Should we be giving the green light to new mining projects? 💰🌲
The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
We want to know: Should mining projects like this move ahead?
