Last night: "Culture and Uniqueness"
"Culture and Uniqueness" was the theme of our meeting last night. With some still on holiday, we were smaller in number, but ready to rock for another year!
Some of us have been talking about what makes Newtown Toastmasters special, and we explored this during Table Topics. Wellbeing was a common thread during the prepared speeches - we learned about Mindfulness, Sleep and how skills from Toastmasters can help in difficult times. The very thorough evaluations were appreciated, too.
Thanks, everyone, for participating - see you on Wednesday 23 January :)
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
FREE 10-liter emergency water bottles
Merry Christmas -
I have around twenty, empty 10-liter distilled water bottles to serve as emergency water storage. I saved them for my friends, but they already have their own water supplies. Take as many as you like. Please respond to this notice if you are interested.
Best wishes - Michael
