Planning a Garden ....The Wind Issue.
I often get asked as a Garden Design Consultant what to plant to reduce the wind. Often people are disappointed that their property is in a high wind zone and so they aren't able to enjoy being outside and also find their fruit trees don't survive! Be very careful to consider the wind factor when buying a property! Wind may be reduced though not necessary eliminated. A common, though brilliant tree/shrub to use for shelter is Griselinia littoralis.

We definitely need homes that are fit to live in but there are often frustrations when it comes to getting consent to modify your own home.
