ART SALE in Newtown this weekend - Ray and Margaret Ritchie 10-2 today and tomorrow

At St Anne's hall in Newtown (end of Emmett Street) there is an art sale between 10am and 2pm Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd. The work is mainly by Ray Ritchie who has exhibited in the City Gallery and in Newtown. There are also works by his wife Margaret. To see some of Ray's work watch www.youtube.com...
Some of the work is for sale by silent auction, with the auctions ending at 2pm on Sunday. There are also many pieces that are for sale that you can make an offer for. There is a wide variety of work ranging from still life studies, to landscapes, to portraits of politicians, to quirky and humorous social commentary.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
