Push to get every Kiwi scanning, every time
Come on Neighourly folk remember to scan, every time you go out.
As new highly transmissible Covid-19 strains send countries into second and third lockdowns, Stuff is forging ahead with its “Stop! Scanner time” campaign to remind Kiwis of the importance to keep scanning QR codes, should there be a community outbreak.
Everyone – every single one of us – needs to be scanning the NZ Covid Tracer app, or signing in on a sheet of paper, every single time.
Come on Neighourly folk remember to scan, every time you go out.

Ganges Road bench seats demolished
Why are the 3 nice bench seats in Ganges Road Khandallah being demolished? They didn’t look unsafe to me, were pretty and well-built and have been in constant use by lots of people. Whose decision was it and are they going to be replaced?

Nine minutes of fireworks cost cash-strapped council $175,000
Do you support the council paying for fireworks?
Wellington City Council spent more than $175,000 on a fireworks display that exploded over a city facing a funding crisis, a rates hike, and a range of controversial cuts.
The council is considering a rates rise of up to 17 per cent and is scrambling to save money as it deals with a wave of big costs such as ageing pipes, a Central Library refit, and the Let’s Get Wellington Moving transport package.
The council last week ditched an idea, proposed by Mayor Andy Foster, to save $120,000 in the coming year by getting rid of a programme of free pool entry for under-fives. But others remaining in the queue for possible cuts include a new Chinese gardens, cutting of some library funding for books, and some capital replacements.

Poll: Do you have confidence in Mayor Andy Foster?
There are increasing calls for an independent review of the way Mayor Andy Foster is performing.
On Wednesday he announced an independent review into the governance of elected members.
There have also been calls for the the Auditor-General to investigate Foster’s eleventh-hour proposal to sell part of the Wellington library building.
Do you think he is doing a good job?
