⏰Update on Court Proceedings
Our High Court hearing is scheduled for 12-14 May. As part of this process, Wellington Airport, Airways, and the Director of the Civil Aviation Authority were due to file their witness statements by Monday, 31 March. These statements were received as late as Friday 4 April, PM.
This follows a similar delay in December, when key documents expected on 6 December were received over two weeks later, right before the Christmas break.
Each delay reduces the preparation time available to our pro bono legal and volunteer expert team.
Large corporations have time and money on their side to delay, but that's nothing compared to having the strength of community and integrity.
Poll: Should we be giving the green light to new mining projects? 💰🌲
The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
We want to know: Should mining projects like this move ahead?
