Commumity Garden Evans Bay Parade
What a beautiful and busy week we have had in Wellington.
On Tuesday our Kea Tamariki had an excursion to the Community Gardens located in Evans Bay Parade.
At the gardens - we stop at each raised garden and Jo talked about what we can see and the tamariki have LOTS to say as well about what they see, smell.
We spend some time at the Strawberry garden - looking for the flowers and talking about bees, pollination) and how the flowers turn into the fruit.
This created much excitement and it was decided we NEED to have strawberries in our garden too.

Razor blades in the walls....
Has anyone ever seen something like the image below in an older Kiwi home? Does anyone remember them from their childhood? These strange slots allowed you to rid yourself of an old razor and never think of it again...but it also meant, years down the track, that someone renovating would be in for a nasty, rusty surprise.
I'm certain I've seen something like this here in Aotearoa-NZ, but can't for the life of me recall where. It was in the back of the medicine cupboard. Let us know if you've seen, had - or have - one in your home.

As new highly transmissible Covid-19 strains send countries into second and third lockdowns, Stuff is forging ahead with its “Stop! Scanner time” campaign to remind Kiwis of the importance to keep scanning QR codes, should there be a community outbreak.
Everyone – every single one of us – needs to be scanning the NZ Covid Tracer app, or signing in on a sheet of paper, every single time.
