Emergency notification calls
Hi everyone - I know there is some sort of emergency notification system that can call mobile numbers in the case of emergency or potential/pending natural disaster. However it's my impression that it's something that one needs to register for and it operates on the mobile phone networks. I've just had a call on our landline from a very well-spoken ordinary English/Kiwi-sounding woman warning about some sort of emergency. We're not registered for any such system and as I didn't trust it, I hung up immediately. Has anyone else had this type of call? I'm used to the ones purportedly from Spark or Microsoft warning of computer gloom and doom, but one suggesting pending natural disaster is new to me.

Stamps wanted
I run a Stamp club at Tawa School to encourage children to collect stamps and learn about countries, history and more. Unfortunately new stamps aren't often seen these days as it's all electronic! If you have any stamps or old collections sitting around, let me know and I'll come and get them.
