RYLA is a residential high-energy programme to develop young leaders to be held at the Silverstream Retreat, Hutt Valley, 23-27 January.
“RYLA will take you on a journey of teamwork and personal growth, and will challenge your limits. It’s one of the best ways you can spend a week if there is something, anything, that you want to achieve in life. OR if, like I was, you’re feeling somewhat directionless. The programme is diverse, with something for everyone. You’ll work within teams, share with those around you, listen to a range of truly inspirational speakers, and take part in all manner of dynamic activities. Roger Halls Sparkling Comedy Social Climbers
What do you call six women stranded on a mountain in the rain: ridiculous! Or you could call them social climbers … but just not to their faces! Once at the hut, not only do they unload their packs full of food, wine, and a souvenir rock; their hang-ups get unloaded as well.

Once at the hut, not only do they unload their packs full of food, wine, and a souvenir rock; their hang-ups get unloaded as well.
Torrential rain and a flooded bridge keep them stranded for three days. What they get up to, to help pass the time, raises a few eyebrows and will have you laughing, tearing up and applauding enthusiastically as they bare all.
Of course, it’s not just souls that are exposed, there’s a little nudity, a cracking thunderstorm, explosions, screaming bloody murder, ghostly stories, a birthday celebration, a séance, a drunken party, confessions, meltdowns and revelations that will keep you and your friends entertained throughout.
Perfectly timed for your own social group’s ascent into summer, don’t miss this hilarious play when it comes to a town near you in November.

Charges for coupon parking and permits will also be increased. A charge of $2:50 per hour will be applied in all areas that currently have a weekday rate of $3:00 or more.
Daily public parking coupons will now cost $7:50, an increase of a dollar, with an increase of $15 from the current $120:00 for monthly coupons, and a range of increases for trade coupons. A 12-month resident parking permit will increase from $115:00 to $126:50, and there are also increases for exemption, guesthouse and loading permits. A full-day weekend central city trade coupon will be introduced at a rate of $22:50.
The decision aims to encourage higher turnover of parking spaces on weekends, allowing more people to access the city, and keeping rates affordable. It will transfer the cost of maintaining city centre amenities from local businesses currently paying the Downtown Levy to users of parking spaces.
