Chris Quin - CEO Foodstuffs North Island Visits KCA
On the 19th June, Tawa/Grenada North charity was privileged to have Chris Quin - CEO of Foodstuffs North Island visit KCA.
It marks 8 years sponsorship when we first starting to receive donations from Foodstuffs Wellington which then became part of Foodstuffs North Island.
KCA rescues food from New World Khandallah, Newlands New World, Churton Park New World, New World Tawa, New World Porirua, New World Whitby and New World Paremata.
Foodstuffs NI Transport Division in Auckland, Palmerston North and Grenada North also assist us with backfilling of trucks to get donated goods from Chep (food rescue crates) and other stock donated from other parts of the NZ to us in Wellington.
In 2.5 months of operating since 1st April, KCA has redistributed over 102 tons of food in the Greater Wellington community. All food is shared with the local foodbanks, schools and partner agencies with whom we have a service contract with.
CONTINUOUS GLUCOSE MONITORING (CGM)
If you are still using the Finger Prick method to monitor the blood sugar levels, here's some good news.
There are now several products in the market that allow you to do the monitoring with a sensor that is attached to the arm.
The challenge is most of them cost around $100 for a 14 day use.
Now there is Caresense Air that is way more affordable;
1 unit is $60 + postage but if you order
6 units, the price comes down to $48 +postage per unit.
I am inviting anyone interested to contact me so we can make use of the bulk order discount.
PS: I am not an agent or distributor for Carensense Air. Just thought of making use of the bulk discount.
