Fire Safety Presentation
Have a question about fire safety?
Next Saturday (12 June), the team at Fire and Emergency will be holding a fire safety session in Johnsonville.
The session will offer advice about how to reduce potential fire risks around your home.
Fire Risk Management Officer Phil Soal says cooking and using heaters pose significant fire risks.
“Hopefully those who attend will leave the session having learnt about kitchen fire safety, the dangers around heaters and how to reduce the risks when using multi-boards.”
He says an important message Fire and Emergency wants the public to know is that a house fire can be un-survivable within three minutes.
The free session will conclude with a kitchen fire demonstration, where Fire and Emergency will demonstrate what and what not to do in the event of a kitchen fire. The Johnsonville Volunteer Fire Brigade will also be in attendance to answer questions and show children over the fire truck.

Stamps wanted
I run a Stamp club at Tawa School to encourage children to collect stamps and learn about countries, history and more. Unfortunately new stamps aren't often seen these days as it's all electronic! If you have any stamps or old collections sitting around, let me know and I'll come and get them.
